The pilgrims had visited the shrine of a Sufi saint and were returning to Dadu, The AP reported.

One of the injured passengers, Imam Bakhsh, blamed the wreck on the driver, accusing him of driving recklessly and listening to music, The AP reported. Bakhsh claimed that the passengers attempted to warn the driver to be more careful but to no avail.

Fatal accidents frequently occur in Pakistan as a result of poor road infrastructure and reckless disregard for traffic laws, The AP reported. Such accidents have involved pilgrims, as well, the Daily Caller has previously reported.

An official with the Pakistan Levies, the country’s security force, said the accident was still under investigation but it appeared it was the result of driver negligence, according to The AP.
